Let me get it straight to the point: I am enjoying the benefits of MEDICard. It is giving me the healthcare that I deserve!
Just like my current company, my previous employer used MEDICard as their Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). Unfortunately, I was not able to get the most of MEDICard benefits on my first company because the card was released few days before my resignation.
The Healthcare I Deserve!
But here in my current job, I am consistently using MEDICard during my Pain & Rehab treatment, medical examination and dental consultation. My dreaded disease (DD) limit is P100,000 so I wonder if this is really the cheapest health insurance in the country. Nonetheless, I’m very privileged to be enrolled under this healthcare program.
MEDICard has a wide healthcare coverage but the availment procedures vary for each service. I haven’t been hospitalized (I’m very thankful for that) so I am not familiar with the hospitalization services and emergency care services. I’m more on out-patient services during checkup and preventive healthcare services. MEDICard has different accredited hospitals and dentists in different parts of the country. Borough Medical Care Institute and Roceles Dental Clinic are my top picks because of their accessibility. In terms of the service provided, well, I have so much more to say but let’s save it on my next dedicated posts (if I’ll have any). Not that negative though.
This post reminds me of something I’d like to clarify with them. Ob-gyne and maternity services. I have to check medical and healthcare handbook first and I don’t find the answer, I’ll give them a call.
Most of my teammates are on vacation leave enjoying their local tours around the magnificent Philippine islands and cities. Anawangin, Bacolod, Palawan, and Boracay. Name it, every part of our country has tourist spots worth-visiting! And I want to see all of them.
Some places can be reached by driving. Of course there are other means of transportation but if one’s up for adventure, I believe bringing and driving his or her own car sounds great! I’ll buy my own car soon but what bothers me are the parking and car insurance rate. Is it that costly?

I’ve heard that having a car is like having a baby that you have to feed and take care of. The annual expenses is comparable to a mother of one kid. Isn’t it too early for me to raise a child? Haha. Ok then, I’ll buy a house first and then a car to settle everything.

Hear me roar!), it’s also pretty complicated. Well, it is when you first get started with it. I’m learning a little bit at a time. And that’s what really matters, I hope.

So, somewhere in between taking care of my kids, the cleanliness of my home and the condition of our culinary pursuits of the evening (i.e. cooking and cleaning, since I am so Mary Tyler Moore), I also get to handle paying some bills. Did you know that you can pretty much pay every bill you will ever have, without ever bothering to leave your house? Truth be known, you don’t even have to leave your computer table (or bed, which is a very nice alternative computer using spot). While your kids might not let you have five minutes to yourself (unless you bribe them with ice cream or make them take naps), it usually only takes two or three minutes to get a few bills paid.
I mean, you can just pop open your laptop, get to your bank’s website and get the bills cracked off. I can take a deep breath, and by the time I feel the need to let it out, I’ve got my auto insurance, gas and water bills paid. I should probably keep practicing this little skill of mine. I get the feeling that if I put in enough practice time with this, I can pay every bill in just one breath.
