When you purchase a hot tub, it comes along with a hot tub cover. However, it is important that you have a reliable hot tub cover.

Hot tub covers are important because it keeps the dirt off the water in the tub. It also keeps children from dipping their hands into it which again, may be dirty. It also prevents your dogs and other pets from just diving into it. Seriously, you do not want to dip yourself in your hot tub not knowing that your dog has already dipped earlier. That would not feel good. At the same time, it also protects children from being scalded if there is a cover. Hot tub covers also keeps the water inside heated. It prevents cold wind from cooling your water. Perhaps one of the most important uses of a hot tub cover is that it protects your hot tub shell from direct sunlight since it can be damaging to it.

Keep in mind that a reliable hot tub cover fits perfectly on your hot tub. It should also be durable especially against weathering. Though as time passes by, your hot tub may gradually become heavy and waterlogged and at the worse, moldy. In order for you to keep your hot tub from getting water logged, it is helpful if you unzip your hot tub at least every two or three months. This allows the foam to dry. Just take note that outdoor hot tub covers wear faster than indoor ones since it is exposed to elements.

Becoming an Effective Composter

What is compost in the first place? Compost is a mixture which consists mostly of decaying organic matter which is eventually used to fertilize land. Most gardeners call compost as “The Black Gold” due to the fact that compost is so rich in nutrients that it helps plants grow healthier. By being able to find the right conditions, you can create your own compost. Once the bacteria and other microorganisms are finished doing their business, you can go ahead and use the end result to feed your plants.

Start a DIY compost pit at home...

Composting is a great way to promote a healthy environment. Not only does it keep your yard clear of waste but at the same time, you can use these waste to grow nature. In order to become an effective composter, you have to keep a few things in mind. Make sure that you have a compost bin located where the sun can shine on it. The sun’s warmth is big factor in breaking down your compost. You should also make sure that the layers of your compost are arranged properly so that oxygen is distributed evenly among the layers. Try to have an arrangement starting with a five centimeter layer of food waste, followed by a five centimeter of crumpled newspaper or other forms of paper.

If you have pets at home which are vegetarian in nature, you could use their beddings as compost. Be careful of using animal beddings for compost because carnivorous pets tend to have more smelly bedding than vegetarian ones. Keep in mind that placing your compost in a warm condition is a fast way of getting finished compost. This means that you can take advantage of the summer season to generate good compost while expect a slow development in the colder months to come. With all these tips and advices, you are on your way in becoming an effective composter!

Post-Christmas Fulfillment

I spent my Christmas with my boyfriend and his family. Everything went out as planned. Then I’ll be with my own family on the New Year’s eve while he’ll just drop by the next morning. Cool arrangement! Sweet!

I think this is the simplest Christmas celebration we ever had. One of the saddest, too. We started off with prayers on the 24th since it was his mom’s 40th day of passing. I missed his mom. Of course we all do.

After a short family gathering, we attended the 8PM mass. We headed home after that and waited for the clock to strike at 12. Noche Buena was kinda different without her mom who usually greeted us cheerfully before anybody does.

We received lots of greetings from other people through SMS and Facebook. And just before we sleep, we watched few more anime.

Here come’s the tiring part… Christmas is over so it’s time for general cleaning!

We changed curtains and bed sheets, wiped out dirt from ceiling and mopped the floor, cleaned electric fans, rearrange things and do lots of household chores. Pretty exhausting! And as we moved the bed around the room to clean each corner and the underneath, we found lots of stuff that we’ve never seen before. Rather, the things they have been looking for. Old shoes, Playstation, drawing materials, dividers, etc. There are also lots of collectible items that have been boxed such as books, anime cards and gashapon. I wonder if one of the family members is also into collecting custom challenge coins. All I know is that her mom has a great collection of mail stamps.

Keeping things in order...

We threw away some of the things that they’ll no longer need. This happens a lot when you do general cleaning. You tend to find old but interest stuff… and as you keep cleaning, it becomes tiresome.

But it was so fulfilling to see a clean and organized room! Now that everything’s in the right place, it’s time for anime marathon!

Affordable Accessories at Saizen Japanese Store

It’s been a while since I last visited Saizen and it was when I bought MTG deck boxes. Now, I have a stash of red and pink deck boxes at home!

Saizen items are all priced P85 each! Amazing, right? What more with their ongoing clearance sale for P25 on participating items while supplies last?!

If only I have a place of my own… I could grab those home decor, gardening stuff and more without having second thoughts! There are lots of good things to buy but I just focused on those that I can really use. I bought fashionable gloves and scarf, socks and stockings, seat cushion, and a shade that resembles the replica ed hardy that I’ve found online. I also bought pajama for my youngest sister! I’ll shop again next time because there are more items I’d like to buy! Kawaii stuff!
