Imaginative Bloggers at The Mind Museum

Minds at Work - The Mind Museum

Minds At Work!

First of all, we are not allowed to take photos of the exhibit so don’t expect amazing works of arts and science here. Yes, we can but for personal use only hence I can’t share my shots. Since this is all about imaginative minds, let me just challenge your senses by naming some of the exhibits - Whirlpool, Bernoullis Principle, Listen to your Heart, Air/Tornado, Canopy of Life, Solar Bugs and my favorite – Space Shell. I always fall for stars… so exploring the outer space is on my bucket list. The roving space shell reminds me of the Planetarium when I was a grader. Alright, I’m leaving everything to your imagination.

We were given a checklist and we rated each exhibit according to ease of use/view, ease of understanding and how interesting it is. This is just a exhibit-testing so the actual displays would be far better, I supposed. There are guides who explained what the exhibit is all about, how to use the controls, and so on. I have to admit, sometimes, I’m too afraid to experiment. But this exhibit taught me once again that we should not be afraid of science. Instead, interact with it. Speaking of interaction, there are exhibits that are less interesting because it lacks interactive approach. This is just one of the feedback I’ve submitted after going through each exhibit.

Science, Math and English are my three favorite subjects and this exhibit-testing reminds me of how I excel on these subjects (modesty aside) when I was a student. :) The library is my favorite place when I was in grade school. Science books had been my bestfriends back then especially the Universe hardcover series. It’s not always about the pictures, it’s more on interesting facts that I learn each day. At The Mind Museum, I feel like reliving my SCIENTIFIC days.

Once this one-billion project is completed, I’ll be there to explore it!

On top of interesting and mind-tickling exhibits, I’ve also met fellow bloggers who are all enthusiastic about The Mind Museum.

I’ve been looking for a handy digicam ever since I met Nailo (my DSLR). Though I love my SLR so much, sometimes it’s so bulky that it only deserves planned events or occasions. Having a 2View camera can definitely improve my blogging experience. I am not a camwhore but I love taking pictures of what I eat and where I go. Also, I just love taking random shots of those around me. The cybershots from my SE phone need an upgrade and Samsung 2View will definitely be a great choice. I’m looking forward to no-mess shots from now on. Nothing can stop me now to capture the world in different angles with a sleek and powerful imaging device. I won’t miss any cheerful or hearty moments with a handy 2view cam! I just have to point and shoot… easy and fun!

If you want it too, join the contest now!

CARA Welfare Philippines – Compassion and Responsibility for Animals

CARA Welfare

One of them could be your own bestfriend!

PRESS RELEASE:

CARA Welfare Philippines re-launches website

CARA Welfare Philippines was established in 2000 by a group of animal lovers determined to improve the lives of street animals here in the Philippines by the Spay/Neuter method to control the fast growing population. As we near our 12-year anniversary as a non-profit organization, CARA aims to help even more animals through our low cost Clinic in Malate as well as our Adoption, Education and Trap Neuter Return Programs.

As part of our continued growth, we are re-launching our website in an effort to make CARA more visible in the mainstream media and society. Our new site will be easier to navigate, as well as more informative, visually appealing and intimate. In depth information about our programs and events as well as stories about our rescues, will be accompanied by photos and updates. Our newsletter will provide the latest news on our activities, events, health and medical tips as well as our featured animals up for adoption.

We hope that our friends, followers, fans, sponsors and benefactors will enjoy the time and effort that we are putting into our new and improved site. We are extremely excited and proud to launch it, and hope that you will help CARA spread the word through posting on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter as well as your personal blogs and community pages.

We thank you for your continued support of our programs and animals.

If you are against animal cruelty and would love to save stray animals, please spread the word about CARA. Get involved with their timely campaigns and extend your support by adopting or sponsoring a pet, sending donations or being a CARA volunteer. Visit http://caraphil.org/ for more details on how you can change the world through commitment and teamwork. Like you, animals deserve to be happy! Ready to foster one?

Put Your Blog on Business Cards

Liz Business Card Blush Pink

Just the first six of my more than a dozen sites!

Attending blogger events is really fun because you get to know more bloggers aside from enjoying the event itself. There are such blogs that I don’t even know exist until I meet the bloggers behind them. Blog hopping does not only reward me with returned visits and comments but also gives me an idea about the blogger’s personality.

It’s good if the two of you share the same interest because you can relate to each other. But being from Venus, Mars or outer space can also make things interesting! Even if we write about different topics, being a “blogger” is a bond itself that will make our first meetups worth-remembering. The time we talk about our blogs, when we start blogging, how we earn from them and more online stuff. But here’s a sure way to cut the talk or the www’s on your conversations. Hand your business card to the bloggers out there. Your calling card can do all the talking for you and they will also have a hard copy of your sites. This will also serve as a reference for your contact details. If you don’t have personalized calling cards yet, start making them now with rack card printing. I’m currently relying to free business card maker and hoping to have few business cards ready on the next bloggers’ event!

Akyat Pinatubo Pre-Event Briefing

I said NO to my date just to attend this pre-event briefing at R.O.X (Bonifacio High Street, Taguig) with bestie Rhonz. So as of this writing, I still have to make it up with boyfie especially that I’ll be stealing another Saturday of our weekend this coming June 4.

So, what happened during the pre-event briefing?

We got to know more about the sponsors, too!

Then prizes, prizes, prizes! Yeah, won 3 times! First, I’ve got a pair of Havaianas for being the second registrant! Being an early bird always pays off, right? Grabbing the image from Impulsive Buyer:

Havs of my size and fav color! Double yippee!

More prizes from two rounds of raffle! Everyone is a WINNER. I was not able to take pics of all the prizes I received but it’s more than an ordinary loot bag. The bloggers and the prizes made our stay really worthwhile, what more during the actual event?

R.O.X. - View from Starbucks

Right after the briefing, Rhonz and I checked some sports items at ROX. Then we headed to Starbucks, The Fort for another soul sister’s bonding moments. We had a great time already at Sbarro before attending this orientation. Thanks Rhonz for the Venti Chocolate Cream Chip Frappe!

Attending events, bonding with friends, shopping, eating pizza and drinking coffee are definitely hearty ways of spelling F-U-N!
